We try to be straight about refunds rather than hide behind fine print. The short version is below; the full rules are underneath.
TL;DR
- Event cancelled by the organizer → full automatic refund.
- Event date or venue changes materially → your choice: refund or attend the new one.
- Event happens as planned and you can't make it → not refundable by default, though some organizers choose to allow buyer-initiated refunds. Ask first; we'll relay.
- Refunds go back to the original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days.
- Need to ask about one? Email support@hypedcrowds.com.
Automatic refunds
These don't require you to do anything. We initiate the refund as soon as we know:
- Event cancellation. If the organizer cancels the event, every ticket gets a full refund — including any platform fee.
- Material change to date or venue. If the event moves to a new date or new venue more than a few miles away, you can either keep your ticket for the new event or request a refund. We'll email you with the option when this happens.
- Show didn't happen. If you arrived and the venue was closed or the event simply didn't go on, contact us within 7 days. We'll investigate with the organizer and refund if confirmed.
Buyer-initiated refunds (case-by-case)
Tickets are non-refundable by default once purchased. Some organizers choose to allow refund requests for change-of-mind cases (illness, scheduling conflict, weather). Whether that applies to your event is at the organizer's discretion.
To request one:
- From your dashboard, open the order and click Request refund. Tell us why.
- Or email support@hypedcrowds.com with your order number and reason.
We forward the request to the organizer; they have 3 business days to decide. We'll email you with the outcome. Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method.
What we won't refund
- Failure to attend. If you bought a ticket and just didn't show up, we generally can't refund — the seat was held for you and the organizer counted on it.
- Wrong tier or wrong event purchased. Email us within 24 hours of purchase. We'll try to help, but this is case-by-case.
- Issues with the event itself (sound was bad, headliner cut their set short, etc.) are between you and the organizer. We can pass feedback along but the platform's responsibility ends at delivering the right ticket.
- Tickets resold above face value. Reselling for profit is prohibited under our Terms of Service; tickets identified as scalped may be invalidated without refund.
Platform fees
When a refund is issued, any platform service fee folded into the ticket price is refunded along with the ticket — you get back exactly what you paid.
How long it takes
Once a refund is approved, Stripe processes it back to the original payment method. Most US debit / credit cards see the credit within 5–10 business days, but it can occasionally take longer depending on your bank. We'll send a confirmation email when the refund is issued.
Chargebacks
Please contact us before filing a chargeback with your card issuer. Chargebacks cost both us and the organizer money even if you'd have been entitled to a refund anyway, and they delay legitimate refund cases. We'll usually be able to resolve the issue faster than your bank can.
Fraudulent chargebacks (i.e., disputing a charge for a ticket you used or where we already refunded) may result in account suspension and recovery of any losses through the dispute process.
